This variety is found throughout Spain under different names, but its use is not widespread in Galicia.
It is a well-rounded and versatile variety, although its low production means that it is used as a complementary variety.
It produces mature wines that reach high alcohol concentrations of around 13 - 14% and with good aromas,
average polyphenolic content and low acidity.
In Galicia it is mixed with other native varieties with a greater acid or polyphenolic content according to the
type of wine being made, adding alcoholic strength, body and aromatic complexity to the blend.
