Treixadura is the top white grape variety in the DO Ribeiro.
This Galician grape similar to Albariño but less glyceric and refined, produces aromatic, smooth and elegant
wines evoking fruit, with delicate floral notes and balsamic touches. They easily reach 12 - 13.5º alcohol
content, compensated by a total acidity of between 5.5 and 7 g/l expressed as tartaric acid, making them fresh,
balanced, flavourful and unctuous. It combines perfectly with Albarino.
We would like to present you Ribeiro´s gem “Tostado” wine that is produced with 100 % Treixadura and
is a naturally sweet wine, made using only the must from the best grapes that have previously been dried
under cover. Its production is on a very reduced scale, and it is highly labour intensive and complex, but the
result is a winemaking
jewel with a unique set of features.
Visually
these wines are bright and quite oily, with tones ranging from gold and amber through to mahogany.
They have an intense, extremely complex and distinctive aroma, beautifully complemented by the woods
used in the ageing process. Descriptions in the nose include dried fruits, nuts, roasted coffee, honey,
yellow flowers, quince paste, candied orange peel and ripe melon.
In the palate they are concentrated, with a pleasantly sweet and warm start that develops and combines with
flavourful and fresh sensations to produce a balanced and full finish.
They feel unctuous, oily and velvety, and the overall impression is strengthened with a magnificent and intense
retro-olfaction, long lasting and with great depth.
“Tostado” wine is the perfect accompaniment to all kinds of sweets, chocolates, nuts, cheeses, foie gras, ice
creams and dishes that call for a fresh sweet wine.
In our range of wines you can find the most appreciated Tostado from Ribeiro Alma de Reboredo.
